Instead of the blasphemy that comes out of universities against our Savior, Jesus Christ, how wonderful would it be to hear words of praise, which He deserves above all else.
It’s clearly commanded: “You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.” It’s clearly implied: You shall use the name of the Lord your God effectively, reverently. Instead of dragging Jesus’ name through the muck of man’s indignities and impudence, we should lift the name of the Lord up so that men everywhere may call upon it and be saved. Why? For Jesus is come to save His people from their sins.
How then can we do this? Praise Him, dear friends, praise Him. Bless His name forgetting not His benefits. Praise Him with hymns, Praise Him with words of adoration. Praise Him before your spouse and to your children. Share His love with the loveless, unloved and unlovable.
Identify with Christ at work. Offer His forgiveness to the down trodden. Bring Him to your classmates. Show forth the praises of Jesus who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Praise Jesus.
“Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 5:19-20
